In December 2022 we held the International Day of Human Rights event. This was a multicultural, multifaith, interfaith, community, Human Rights event.

Jessica Fairlie and her father Andrew gave a stellar performance. Their songs shared the message of communities coming together as one in the name of Human Rights.

Community groups and members were acknowledged with a Human Rights In Action Award. The awards were to recognize the work done during the pandemic years, from homework clubs, foodbank drives, toy drives, and Human Rights education, to name a few.

Here’s some feedback from guests:

“Beautiful songs by Jessica and her father Andrew, which set the tone for the event. The YHR materials provided are a very good take for self-education and for others.”

“I loved seeing all different cultures being gathered together and sharing each other’s stories and love. The songs by Jessica and Andrew were very touching to the heart and meaningful. Exploring the meaning of ‘being one’ and ‘freedom.’”

“What a beautiful collection of wonderful people doing amazing work in the community. I loved seeing and hearing about all the awardees and the amazing work they have been doing. The performance was beautiful.”
